PhD Project:
Structural reassessment of flood defences
The project is concerned with the geotechnical aspects influencing the reliability of flood defences with special attention to long linear infrastructures such as river embankments and sea dikes. The goal is to incorporate all the information available on the geotechnical resistance of these structures in one probabilistic framework in order to minimize their uncertainty and provide information for decision making on optimal maintenance and inspection.
